Kennedy Mutua Mugambi
Managing Partner
Kennedy Mutua Mugambi is the Managing Partner at Mutua Mugambi & Company Advocates and an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya. He heads the Firm’s Tax, Commercial, and ESG practice. Kennedy possesses extensive experience in advising corporates, multinationals, and public institutions on tax structuring, compliance, regulatory processes, commercial transactions, and sustainability frameworks.
He has represented clients before revenue authorities and tribunals in complex tax audits, investigations, and disputes, establishing himself as a trusted advisor renowned for delivering pragmatic, results-driven solutions that balance compliance, commercial objectives, and sustainability considerations.
His practice covers Tax Advisory & Compliance, Corporate & Commercial Law, ESG and Environmental Law, Procurement & Regulatory Compliance, and Dispute Resolution.
He holds a Master’s in Tax and Customs Administration (KESRA), an LL.B from Kenyatta University, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law. He is currently pursuing a Diploma in Greenhouse Gas Measurement, Reporting, and Verification with the Greenhouse Gas Management Institute.
Kennedy is also a published thought leader in taxation, commercial law, and ESG, with articles in leading dailies on tax dispute resolution, regulatory reforms, and carbon markets.
Catherine Solopian Samperu
Legal Associate
Catherine Solopian Samperu is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and a Legal Associate at Mutua Mugambi & Company Advocates. She holds an LL.B from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT), is a Certified Professional Mediator (CPM), and an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (ACIArb). She also holds a Certificate in Contract Law from Harvard University (edX).
Catherine leads the Firm’s Litigation Department and has extensive experience in tax law, contract law, and conveyancing. Her professional background includes training at Rachier & Amollo LLP Advocates and substantive research contributions at the Legal Education Forum, where she co-authored a book now used in university training.
Hillary Gachango
Senior Accountant
Hillary Gachango is the Senior Accountant at Mutua Mugambi & Company Advocates. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from Kenyatta University, is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), and has studied Business Management at the Kenya Institute of Management (KIM).
With over five years of experience in audit, taxation, and financial advisory, Hillary has worked with corporates, SMEs, and public benefit organizations. His expertise spans Tax Advisory & Compliance, Audit & Assurance, and Financial Advisory.
Titus Gitonga
Legal Assistant
Titus Gitonga serves as a Legal Assistant at the Firm. He is a final-year LL.B student at Mount Kenya University and a Certified Professional Mediator (CPM). He joined the Firm in March 2025 as a Legal Intern, where he supported corporate and commercial practice, contract drafting and review, tender documentation, and compliance processes for both local and multinational clients.
Titus has also supported litigation and dispute resolution processes, including case preparation, legal research, and the drafting of pleadings. His competencies include Contract & Compliance Management, Legal Research & Advisory Support, Corporate & Regulatory Compliance, Dispute Resolution & Mediation, and Legal Documentation & Reporting.
Prior to joining the Firm, Titus served as a Judicial Attaché at Meru Law Courts, gaining practical experience in litigation and court processes.
Rael Mutiria
Accountant & Administrator
Rael Mutiria is the Firm’s Accountant and Office Administrator. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) from Machakos University and is currently pursuing certification as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) at KCA University.
At the Firm, Rael is responsible for financial management, statutory compliance, reconciliation, payroll, and internal financial controls. Her expertise includes Tax Compliance, Payroll Management, Budgeting and Forecasting, and Financial Record Keeping.
